UNC Tunnel - Rachael-Anne Omps

UNC Tunnel - Rachael-Anne Omps

Next up on our request list: UNC tunnel

Founded in 1889 as "State Normal School of Colorado" , UNC has officially changed its name three times, first to Colorado State College of Education, at Greeley on February 16, 1935, Colorado State College on February 11, 1957, and its current form (University of Northern Colorado) since May 1, 1970.

UNC campus spread across 260 acres with additional buildings in Denver and Loveland, Colorado.

Fun Fact: Did you know the "hill" at UNC with the giant bronze bear statue and the Student Center was originally the first cemetery in Greeley? Check out our previous blog entry!

While non of the bards are current UNC students, we've all seen the UNC campus for most of our lives.
One of the more famous spots is the bridge that runs under 11th avenue.

From the outside, it looks...well....not so inviting. But if you're willing to "take the plunge" under 11th avenue you will end up in an incredible space.

Filled with art from current and former students, the tunnel under UNC hold some amazing treasures in art form.

Did we mention there is art outside of the tunnel as well? Right by the Student Center

We'll see you next time as we continue to discover Greeley together!
